On Monday 24th October it was announced that Linx, Endolite’s fully integrated, microprocessor controlled lower limb system, has been awarded a German Design Award in the ‘Universal Design’ category.
In July, a jury of 40 of the world’s leaders in design, business, education and science, met in Frankfurt to judge the entries. The top prizes awarded for each category are Gold, Winner and Special Mention. Linx has been awarded a ‘winner’ status for the Universal Design category.
This year, more than 4,000 entries were made. The award, launched in 2012 and presented by the German Design Council is a highly prestigious achievement within design circles and is given to ground-breaking designs which include vehicles, furniture, electrical appliances, advertisement campaigns and trade-show stands to name but a few.
Entry to the awards is by invitation only, which shortlists the products and communication design services that “demonstrably set themselves apart from their competitors thanks to their design quality.”
The award ceremony of the German Design Award 2017 will take place at the “Ambiente” show, the leading international trade fair for consumer goods, in Frankfurt in February 2017.
