ISHWAR

ISHWAR: the Indian based society dedicated to enhancing the lives of disabled people internationally, recently played host to Smt. Sheila Dikshit, Chief Minister of the Govt. of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.

Mr. Surinder Metha, President of ISHWAR, addressed a warm welcome to Smt. Dikshit on the occasion at which she was invited to present wheelchairs and walking aids to individuals injured in the Delhi bomb blasts that occurred during Diwali celebrations in October 2005.

All the limbs supplied by ISHWAR are either free of charge or for a suitable donation from the recipient, depending on the circumstances, and ISHWAR has been active in helping to restore shattered lives following numerous natural and terrorist disasters in the region.

Endolite India

The private orthopaedic clinic group: Endolite India Ltd. was established in 1995 as a joint venture between the Prime Group of Companies and Chas. A. Blatchford & Sons. Mr Metha’s vision was to introduce high-tech and innovative technology into the Indian Prosthetics and Orthotics field through creation of a clinical and distribution network that would bring new materials and technologies into standard practice. Endolite India, the partnership company they developed, now has 7 clinics in India’s large urban centres and is set to expand into all parts of India.

Initially the supply of orthopaedic rehabilitation devices concentrated on the use of Indian and internationally sourced components especially low weight, high technology prosthetics and electronic controls but recent developments at Endolite India have included in-house silicone reconstructive cosmeses and factory production of Atlas: a low cost, high-tech lower limb prosthetic system.

Endolite India has since 1995 been at the forefront of Orthopaedic Rehabilitation and has brought innovative solutions across the whole Prosthetic and Orthotic treatment spectrum in this vast country. Indications suggest continued expansion of this network to bring technological advances and highly focussed quality of care to all parts of India.
